Wanaka, New Zealand – The Wanaka Community Trust is excited to invite people to their very own community festival in
Wanaka this Labour Day weekend.
Wanakafest is back with a focus on local connectedness. The Festival is set to provide a diverse line up of events
designed to bring community members of all ages together to enjoy this slice of paradise.
Wanakafest 2014 begins on Saturday 22nd October with something for everyone; a street party full of food stalls, a pop
up market and great free local music into the evening. The Dinosaur Park will be a kids’ heaven with activities and the
incredible Puzzling World Imagination Station.
Local favorites back by popular demand include the Rotary Rubber Duck Race, Ray White Polar Plunge, Wastebusters Trolley
Derby and Cardboard Boat Race.
Athletic locals will be tempted to join the action at the Urban Downhill or exercise their endurance at the Racers Edge
Deans Bank 10-hour race, and new in Wanaka for 2014, the Red Bull Defiance Race.
On Monday 23rd October, people are invited to celebrate the Rippon Open Day as part of their 100 years on the land
celebration.
