Planned road closures on SH2 Domain Road interchange
A series of planned road closures will be in place at the Domain Road interchange on State Highway 2 (SH2) over the next week, as work on the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) continues.
The NZ Transport Agency says SH2 between Domain Road and Welcome Bay Road will be closed to allow contractors to construct the Te Puke approach into the new Domain Road interchange roundabout.
A detour via Domain Road, Tara Road, Parton Road and Bell Road will be in place during the road closures.
Closure details are as follows:
Sunday September 7
• 6.00am to 6.00pm eastbound traffic diverted (Tauranga to Te Puke)
• 6.00pm to 6.00am both directions diverted - eastbound (Tauranga to Te Puke) and westbound (Te Puke to Tauranga)
Each night from Monday September 8 through to Friday September 12
• 7.00pm to 6.00am both directions diverted - eastbound (Tauranga to Te Puke) and westbound (Te Puke to Tauranga)
The Domain Road interchange roundabout will connect traffic between Te Puke and Papamoa and will run underneath the TEL.
The Transport Agency thanks drivers for their patience while these necessary works are carried out.
