Motor Vehicle Accident near Levin

The Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Levin at around 10:30 am to a motor vehicle accident after a car left the road and came to a stop next to a house.
The Levin fire brigade was on scene assisting with the accident and preparing a landing site for the helicopter. Witnesses said there was 4 occupants in the car, 3 were transported by road to hospital, with the 4th, a 6 year old boy, transported in the helicopter. He was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted to Wellington hospital in a serious condition.
The helicopter was dispatched due to the nature of the injuries and the need for quick transport to hospital.
