Hotel owners attacked and robbed

Waikato Police are investigating a robbery at the Pirongia Hotel in Franklin Street Pirongia overnight.
Just after midnight the two owners were tidying up when two men entered the hotel, threatened and assaulted them, tied them up and stole a quantity of cash.
The two men fled from the scene in a vehicle, leaving the victims tied up in the office. Although bound, one was able to get to a phone and call police.
Both victims received minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.
Police are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene this morning. The two robbers are described as:
1. Male, medium build, wearing a
dark jacket over a grey hoodie.
2. Male, medium build,
younger than robber 1, wearing a flouro-pink T shirt over a
dark hoodie. Wearing a cap.
Police are asking for help from the public to identify the two robbers, and the vehicle they used to leave the scene.
