Still time to get your thoughts to Council on new Speed Limits
Just over three weeks remain for the public to make a submission on the new speed limits that were introduced on many roads around the Heretaunga Plains in March this year.
The new Safe Speed Area generally reduces the speed limit on approximately 78 kilometres of roads in rural Hastings from 100km/h to 80 km/h.
Mayor Lawrence Yule says “It is vitally important that the public gives us their thoughts on these new limits. There has been plenty of comment since the new limits were introduced in March, both for and against, and I encourage everyone to consider placing a submission.”
Public consultation on the speed limits comes to a close at 5pm on Monday 22nd September 2014.
Submissions will then be collated and there will be a chance for submitters to speak on their submissions. All submissions and other public feedback will be presented to Council later in the year.
Information on the speed limit changes is available on www.myvoicemychoice.co.nz . You can either complete a submission form online or download a form from the website.
Submission forms are also available at Hastings District Libraries and Council’s Service Centre in Lyndon Road.
