goBay bus timetable changes
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is reminding goBay passengers that there will be a new bus timetable in operation from
Monday 1 September.
The new timetable will also include a small increase in bus fares and a zone change.
The changes have been made to improve the efficiency of the service and ensure that the buses can keep to the timetable.
From Monday 1 September the zone boundary will be changing from Taradale Shops to EIT. All trips to and from EIT will be
one zone trips. Trips from Napier to bus stops past EIT and trips from Hastings to bus stops past EIT will be two zone
trips.
Route 12 services between Napier and Hastings will be operating every 30 minutes in off-peak times and every 20 minutes
in peak times. These changes will help to ensure services run on time.
Routes 12, 16a, 16b and 17 will no longer travel via The Park retail centre in Hastings; however passengers wishing to
travel to/from The Park will be able to travel on Routes 20 or 21.
Minor changes are also being made to the times of Routes 16a, 16b, 17 and 20.
Copies of the new bus timetable booklet are available from goBay bus drivers, public libraries, by calling Hawke’s Bay
Regional Council on 835 9200 or at www.hbrc.govt.nz
goBay smartcards offer fares approximately 20% cheaper than cash fares. Smartcards can be purchased (cash only) from any
goBay bus driver for $17 (this includes $10 worth of travel). Cards can be topped up onboard the bus in any amount of
$10 or more (cash only).
