Aggravated robbery of Whangarei dairy
Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of a dairy in Whangarei yesterday afternoon.
About 1.50pm three men, with their faces disguised, entered Ye Corner Dairy on Crawford Crescent, Kamo.
They demanded cash from the shopkeeper and then hit him on the head with a solid object. The shopkeeper received a minor injury from the assault.
The three men didn't get any cash from the shop, but managed to steal some items before running from the scene. They were last seen heading down Moehau Road to Hodges Park.
This is the second time that Ye Corner Dairy has been robbed this year. On March 8 two men entered the shop and stole some cash, cigarettes and other items.
If anyone has information on yesterday's robbery or has seen any suspicious activity at the time of the incident they can contact Detective Sergeant Dave Wilkinson at the Whangarei Police on 09 430 4500.
If they wish to remain anonymous they can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
