"Police arrest Male suspect involved in Tawa BNZ armed robbery"
A 42 year old Porirua male has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery in regards to the bank robbery at the Tawa Branch of the BNZ bank at around Midday today.
He has been kept in Police custody and will appear at the Wellington District Court on Friday the 22nd of August 2014.
Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee says "This result is very pleasing. It is very satisfying that we have got this alleged violent offender off the streets.
This crime has caused distress and concern to bank staff and public in the area at the time.
Making this arrest will reassure and make the public feel safer in their community “.
