Vector Crews Kept Busy with House Fires and Gas Strikes
NETWORK SUMMARY for week ending 17 August 2014
ELECTRICITY
There were car v pole incidents in Whitford and Manurewa during the week. A truck also hit a transformer enclosure*.
There were house/building fires in East Tamaki, Onehunga, Papakura and in Campbells Bay during the week. Power was isolated to these properties upon request.
Lines were reported down in Epsom, Whangaparaoa, Waiheke and New Windsor during the week.
GAS
Vector crews were called out to six gas strikes during the week. In all instances, these were contractors hitting our gas distribution network while carrying out works. A car also hit a gas meter.
Our crews attended an incident in Pakuranga after we received reports of a hissing sound coming from a gas meter.
