recommended that the Council approve a Creative Industries
Support Fund grant of $96,500 to the Exchange Christchurch

The Council’s 10-year investment in
Golf Events
The Committee has asked for more
detail on the methodology behind the economic impact reports
of the Council’s $5.382 million investment in golf events
since 2005. According to Australian consultancy IER Pty Ltd,
the investment has led to a $70 million direct beneficial
effect for Christchurch over the 10
years.
Amenities Block at the Denton
Oval
Located under the main grandstand at Denton
Park, the well-used Amenities Block reopened in July,
allowing local sports groups to use it for a good portion of
the winter sports season. The strengthening work has taken
it to 67 per cent of the New Building
Standard.
Hei Hei Community
Centre
Repairs and strengthening work on the
Centre are due to be finished by late 2014. The Hei Hei
Community Link, next to the community centre at 12 Wycola
