Central City
Durham St North - one way street south of Bealey Ave
SCIRT’s Fletcher team has completed wastewater work between Kilmore and Armagh Streets. The road will reopen to more
than one lane next week and work on the bridge is complete.
Kilmore St – one way west
Kilmore has lane closures between Madras and Manchester for road reconstruction and storm water repairs, up until
December.
Antigua St is one way, northbound only off Moorhouse Ave to Halkett St/ Balfour Terrace. Work will progress in stages to St Asaph

Peterborough St, access to Knit World and other businesses
The road will be closed to through traffic between Madras and Manchester with full access for residents and businesses. For businesses in this area like Knit World, there is one-way eastbound traffic flow, enter from Manchester St.
Oxford Terrace, south side of the Avon, Manchester to Colombo: A wastewater pump station is being installed so Oxford Terrace is closed between Manchester and Colombo until late

Armagh St, closed between Manchester and Colombo, (access to New Regent from Colombo St)
Rolling road closures on Armagh St until mid November starting from Manchester St to the tram tracks at New Regent St,

Tuam St is one way east only between High and Madras Streets. (The block just past C1 Café/ Alice in Videoland).
Madras St (one-way north) is down to one lane south of Bealey Ave until late August for water main renewal, Kilmore to Peterborough and further

Barbadoes St (one-way south) has lane closures for final road reconstruction from the river to Melrose St/ south of Bealey Ave. This is the final

South City entranceway off Durham St - use Alcester St (just before Bath St), not Winchcombe (on the northern edge of South City).

Outside the Four Aves
Main Road Redcliffs reopens 25 July, 3 pm
Main Road has reopened between McCormacks Bay Road and the Redcliffs shops, removing the detours off Celia St and

Ferry Road, from Ferrymead Bridge back to Dyers/ Tunnel roundabout
Several crews are working along Ferry Road currently with work continuing into 2015. Please take care around cyclists

Emmett St, Shirley, will be closed in stages from Friday 25 July. Work will start at the intersection of Orion St, with one crew working

Burwood
Road works from Monday, 28 July at the Stanford St/ Burwood Rd intersection for about two weeks. The intersection will
be closed with Burwood Road reduced to one lane and two-way traffic maintained with traffic lights. People dropping
children at Burwood School can use Burwood Road and wait at the traffic lights or detour to Newhaven St and Greenhaven
Drive. SCIRT’s Downer team is repairing the damaged wastewater pipe in the intersection.
New Brighton Road is one-way heading east (from the Avondale bridge roundabout at Bassett St to Stour Drive) for about a month. Detours
are in place following Stour Drive, Vivian, Reginald and Bassett Streets. Drivers are encouraged to slow down on the detour streets – there is a pre-school on Vivian St, Little Explorers, so
care is needed. Signs are in place asking drivers to slow down.
Centaurus Road/ Wilsons Road roundabout back in place
SCIRT’s City Care team is getting to the end of this big wastewater project at the base of Huntsbury. The roundabout and
the pedestrian islands are being cemented back in place as well as kerb and channelling. Thanks to everyone for taking
care with manual traffic management – Stop/Go signs and traffic managers keeping you moving.
Aranui/ Wainoni
Breezes Road, Aranui, one-way for two months
Breezes Road, Aranui, is one-way, southbound only while vacuum wastewater tanks are being installed, from Lenton St to
Cuthberts Road. The northbound detour will be Cuthberts Road to Shortland St/ Pages Road or Shortland St/ Lenton St/

Bickerton St, between Wainoni Road and Tahuna St - is one-way heading east towards Pages Road.http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5217
Shortland St is also one-way east from Wainoni to Pages Road.
Upcoming work in August New Brighton
Owles Terrace, New Brighton: A road closure will be in place on Owles Terrace and Beresford St from the roundabout to 125 Beresford Street in a
week’s time, from Monday, 4 August for around eight months. During this time Fulton Hogan will be installing a new water main, storm water main and wastewater pipe. A detour will
be in place along Seaview Road, Hardy and Collingwood Streets.
