SCIRT traffic update - week starting 21 July, 2014, new school term

Central City
Antigua St will be one way, northbound only off Moorhouse Ave to Halkett St/ Balfour Terrace- from Monday 21 July. Work will progress in stages to St Asaph St with no on-street parking around the work site. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5228

Peterborough St, access to Knit World and other businesses

With wastewater repairs completed along Peterborough St between Colombo and Madras, SCIRT’s Fletcher team now begins partial road reconstruction and stormwater work. The road will be closed to through traffic with full access for residents and businesses. Currently the work is between Madras and Manchester up to November. For businesses in this area like Knit World, there is one-way eastbound traffic flow, enter from Manchester St.

Oxford Terrace, south side of the Avon, Manchester to Colombo: A wastewater pump station is being installed so Oxford Terrace is closed between Manchester and Colombo until late September.http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/4625
Armagh St, between Manchester and Colombo, and Manchester St, between Oxford Terrace and Armagh St: Rolling road closures on Armagh St until mid November starting from Manchester St to the tram tracks at New Regent St, moving west. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/5061

St Asaph St (one way west) will be reduced to one lane some days as work progresses between Manchester and Colombo Streets.

Tuam St is one way east only between High and Madras Streets. (The block just past C1 Café/ Alice in Videoland).

South City entranceway off Durham St - use Alcester St (just before Bath St), not Winchcombe (on the northern edge of South City).

South of the river, Manchester to Colombo, night works – wastewater pipe lining - CCTV work is currently taking place throughout the central city overnight - between 6 pm and 6 am, for two weeks. http://strongerchristchurch.govt.nz/work/activity/4640

Use the four avenues for cross-town journeys - go around rather than through.
Use Fitzgerald Ave and Barbadoes St for southbound morning trips.

Monday and Tuesday, 21 and 22 July, St Asaph/ Manchester intersection - Southbound only on Manchester after 9 am Monday , from the St Asaph St intersection. SCIRT’s Downer team will be working in the intersection to half way along St Asaph St to Madras St. Wednesday and Thursday, 23 and 24 July – SCIRT’s Downer team will be working on St Asaph Street between Manchester St and half way to Colombo St. This will affect the intersection of St Asaph and Manchester. Traffic will not be able to go north on Manchester St through this intersection after 9am Wednesday. ends
