Key decisions from today’s Council meeting
Christchurch City Council met today and made the following key decisions:
Lighting master plan
The Strategy and Planning Committee will consider the development of a master plan, including a concept of exemplar or pilot sites, for lighting opportunities in Christchurch. The Committee will report back to the Council in three months.
Cycleway section gets go-ahead
Construction in Grassmere of a short section of one of the Council’s 13 Major Cycleways will begin this year. The section of the Papanui Parallel route is a shared pedestrian and cycle pathway that runs through Rutland Reserve from Rutland Street to Grassmere Street.
Birdlings Flat community hall
The Council approved the location of a community hall building on the reserve at 157 Poranui Beach Road, Birdlings Flat. The reserve will be named “Birdlings Flat Community Reserve”, and another reserve at 7 Lake Terrace Road will be named “Birdlings Flat Utility Reserve.”
Spencer Park Motor Camp lease
The lease of Spencer Park Motor Camp to Christchurch Holiday Parks Limited has been extended for three years to finally expire 1 April, 2017.
