Bedtime Stories Lull Thousands to Sleep at Canterbury Museum
With torches in hand and ready for some night-time fun, hundreds of families turned up for Canterbury Museum’s Night at the Museum evening events on July 8th and 10th.
‘The response has been fantastic’ says Museum Director, Anthony Wright. ‘We have welcomed over 1,700 people each night
so far’.
Visitors are invited to dress in costume and explore the darkened Museum after hours with their torches. And there are
18 teddy bears hidden, waiting to be found – as well as many strange and beguiling characters in places you would never
expect them.
For the little ones who get a bit tired, the chance to curl up and listen to a bedtime story was a bit of gentle
entertainment at a time when most of them would be in bed.
This year’s event theme is Bedtime Stories and there are all sorts of interesting costumed characters wandering the hallways adding to the fun.
The free KidsFest event continues on Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 of July from 6 to 8pm.
Donations are welcome and visitors are asked to bring a torch.
The Museum Store and Cafe are open for a late night snack.
