Creative Communities Funding opens
Arts groups and individuals are invited to apply for funding from the Creative Communities Palmerston North Local Arts Funding Scheme, for projects that encourage local people to take part in arts-related activities.
Recent successful funded projects include Skin Theatre’s production of Macbeth, REACT recycled art workshops, a book of comic strips by Brent Putze and the Renaissance Singers’ Brahms Requiem concert.
There are three funding rounds a year and all applications are considered. This year the previous $5000 cap on applications has been removed.
“While people are no longer limited in the amount they can request, the total of $86,000 available to allocate over the year has not changed and this makes the rounds very competitive,” says Adrian Turner, fund administrator. “Groups need to be realistic in the amounts they request.”
Applications close at 4pm on Monday 18 August and application forms are available from:
pncc.govt.nz
• 356 8199
• Customer Service Centre – Square-side
• Community Living Rooms – libraries
Adrian Turner says he is happy to provide groups and individuals with advice on projects and help completing an application, and can be contacted at adrian.turner@pncc.govt.nz or phone 356 8199.
