Flaxmere Library hours extended
Flaxmere Library will be extending its opening hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings from Monday 21st July.
“Hastings District Council has formally signed off the proposal to extend Flaxmere Library hours until 7.00pm on two evenings a week,” says Henare O’Keefe, Flaxmere Ward Councillor.
Mr O’Keefe says the newly renovated library, situated in the Flaxmere Community Centre, has been well used by the community since reopening onSaturday 29 March.
“The Library provides a great range of educational and leisure resources and it is important these be as accessible as possible to our community.”
Fellow Councillor Jacoby Poulain says the extended hours will be an advantage for local youth and families.
“The renovations increased the area of the youth section in Flaxmere Library and it provides a good environment for study as well as relaxation.”
“Flaxmere Library has a suite of internet computers and library staff are available to help if required.”
