Entries open for Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Awards 2014
Tourism businesses in Hawke’s Bay will have an opportunity to put their best foot forward at the 3rd Annual Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Awards, which opens for entries on Tuesday July 1st.
These awards recognise local tourism providers delivering exceptional visitor experiences and will be announced at an official awards ceremony on 24th September at Mission Estate Winery. The ceremony will be precluded by an Annual General Meeting before the festivities start with champagne and canapés.
Annie Dundas, GM, Hawke’s Bay Tourism says “The awards have been really well received since their inception in 2012 and the tourism industry are very supportive of continuing to celebrate local businesses who deliver an exceptional visitor experience. It’s important that we celebrate achievements within the tourism industry and to acknowledge those who are running successful businesses”
The awards are open to Hawke’s Bay
Tourism members (financial and non financial) across all
tourism sectors. Entrants will be asked to complete an
application form and present a brief business
plan.
Entrants will be judged by an independent panel of

The 2014 award categories include two main categories covering Accommodation and Activities, from which a Supreme Winner will be chosen, plus an award for People’s Choice, sponsored by The Hits radio station. The top ten businesses will be showcased with Category and Supreme Award winners announced on the night.
Liv Reynolds from Black Barn Retreats, 2013 Supreme Award winner encourages tourism businesses to get involved and enter. “Winning the ‘Hawke’s Bay Tourism Supreme Award’ title was not only an exciting achievement but it has also been of great benefit to our establishment. Visitors are attracted to this sort of accomplishment when considering where to stay, eat or visit so in my opinion it was definitely worth entering these awards”
