Environment Canterbury welcomes Lyttelton Port Recovery Plan decision
Today Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee announced that Environment Canterbury to lead the
preparation of a Lyttelton Port Recovery Plan.
“Environment Canterbury is pleased to be asked to lead the development of the Lyttelton Port Recovery Plan to provide
the foundation for the Port’s recovery,” says Environment Canterbury Chair of Commissioners Dame Margaret Bazley.
“We look forward to working with the Port and the community to provide guidance on the repair and rebuild of one of our
region’s most significant assets,” she said.
Environment Canterbury has been directed to develop a preliminary draft plan, manage the submissions process including
the hearing.
