Heavy rain continues to affect Waikato district roads
Heavy rain overnight has caused more issues on Waikato district roads with the following closures:
• Waiterimu Road between Tahuna and Waikare Roads
• Rutherford Road, 2km north of Orini Road
• Kerie Road, Taupiri
• Te Puroa Road
• and Waikokowai Road.
The following roads are down to one lane or will have limited access and caution is advised:
• Waimai Valley Road
• Whaanga Road 3kms from Raglan
• Wairamarama – Onewhero Road
• Klondyke Road 8kms from Onewhero
• Waingaro Road – slips 4 kms from Ngaruawahia and one at the gorge
• and Wily Road in Tuakau is currently being assessed.
Roading teams are currently assessing all sites but drivers are asked to take extreme care in all areas as other reports of flooding are still coming through.
