Heavy rain and strong winds overnight has resulted in a number of road closures around Waikato district.
Three roads are closed this morning as contractors clear trees and debris from the area including:
• Boyd Road - south of the intersection with Bankier Road
• Hiwi Road - up to the intersection with Victoria Road
• Waiterimu Road - a tree is down outside 586 Waiterimu Road.
Other roads are down to one lane with drivers urged to take extreme care in the following areas:
• Waingaro Road - 2kms west of Te Puroa Road
• Whaanga Road - 3kms from Raglan
• Hakarimata Road - three minor slips.
Rotowaro Road has surface flooding but signage is in place and the road is open.
Our contractors are on-site clearing the roads and updates will be available on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/WaikatoDistrictCouncil.
