ChristChurch Cathedral
Media Release – May 30th
Anglican Diocese of Christchurch
It’s one more day in the long
drawn out saga of ChristChurch Cathedral.
The judge has found that the Church Property Trustees acted honestly and have given fair consideration to all the relevant issues including safety, cost, and the preferences of public opinion and the church community.
Bishop Victoria Matthews says, “While permission has been given for deconstruction CPT is under no illusion that that will be able to happen soon. The consent process lies before us.”
Bishop Victoria says in the meanwhile the Anglican Church will continue to pray and participate in the recovery of Christchurch Canterbury.
