Youthline Wellington Annual Street Appeal

Youthline Wellington Annual Street Appeal

Wellington, May Wednesday 14thMay, 2014:Wellingtonians are being asked to hit the streets to support local young people in Youth Week 2014.

Youthline wants local people to give just two hours of their time, on Friday 23 May 2014 to join their team of volunteers raising money to support local services for young people.

Coordinator Vicki Beachen is asking the young and the not so young to help in Youthline’s biggest fundraising event of the year.

“Every day of the year Youthline volunteers are at work, answering calls and texts from young people who need someone to talk to. On 23 May, we’re asking everyone to dig deep and give to make sure we can continue to be there for these young people”, said Vicki.

“We need people to collect on the streets, in their workplace, at the airport and in supermarkets around Wellington. If we can get 100 collectors to give just two hours then Youthline can reach our annual fundraising target”.

Every year for the last 40 years, Wellington businesses and individuals have given their time and their donations to keep Youthline running – to make sure that 48,000 phone calls and 385,000 text messages are answered.

Anyone can volunteer to collect for Youthline. If you can spare an hour or two of your time to help with the appeal, please go to this link to register your interest –
