State Highway 2 – Westbound lane closure today on Tauranga Harbour bridge
Motorists are advised that the Tauranga Harbour bridge and approach will be reduced to one westbound lane, towards Tauranga, effective immediately. This is to repair a burst water main in the cycle way adjacent to the state highway.
The westbound lane closure is expected to be in place for most of today and traffic delays are expected for motorists travelling to Tauranga. Please avoid the area if possible.
The cycle and pedestrian path has been closed until further notice. Cyclists and pedestrians will need to use the path on the Mount Maunganui (north) side of the bridge to get to and from the City.
To find out more about these works please go to http://www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/current-conditions/highway-info/road/7873/north-island.html or phone the Transport Agency's 0800 4 HIGHWAYS.
