Chairman of the Civic Awards subcommittee,
Councillor Kevin Watkins says “The awards are a great
chance to recognise the work of the districts volunteers,
who between them have given thousands of hours service to
our community.”
Councillor Watkins says “Volunteers are playing an increasingly important role in ensuring a large variety of services are maintained in Hastings. They are the backbone of our society and so many organisations would fail if it was not for the dedication and commitment of the volunteers.”
Friends and family of the recipients will attend the ceremony and members of the public are also welcome to be part of this special evening.
The 2014 Civic Honours Awards ceremony will be held on Monday 26th May 2014 in the Cheval Room at the Hawke’s Bay Racing Centre from 5.30pm.
If you would like to attend please phone Ross Holden at 8715056 to register.
