The top four teams all face off in a weekend that is sure to reveal plenty about the real contenders for this year’s
Appliance Shed Fox Memorial Premiership title.
Fourth-placed Howick host the table-topping Pt Chevalier Pirates, after losing their first match of 2014 last week,
going down 32-16 to Mt Albert.
Mt Albert themselves travel to take on Papakura, who sit one spot behind them in third place, with a 4-1 record after
the opening month of competition play.
If the Hornets and Sea Eagles can spring upset victories this weekend the Fox table will have four teams all sitting on
ten points heading into round seven, all sharing the competition lead.
The Auckland Rugby League Match of the Round sees the resurgent Marist Saints take on the Otahuhu Leopards at Murray
Halberg Park. The battle of the centres promises to be a good one in this game, with former Samoan international Tangi
Ropati, and exciting youngster Josh Tamaseu-Russell, taking on talented Otahuhu pair Atelea Nafetalai and Christian
Mika.
Richmond will once again go searching for their first points of the season when they travel to Glenora, while Northcote
and Mangere East go to battle at Birkenhead War Memorial.
