Oil and Gas Regulatory Information Session
Public Meeting: Thursday 1 May 2014 at Araiteuru Marae, Shetland Street, Dunedin.
Six government agencies, together with regional and district councils, share the responsibility for managing petroleum and mineral activities in New Zealand.
These agencies are holding a public information session in Dunedin to explain and answer questions on, all aspects of the Government's regulatory regime for petroleum and minerals exploration and production.
Representatives from New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals, Environmental Protection Authority, Maritime New Zealand, WorkSafe New Zealand, Ministry for the Environment, the Department of Conservation and the Otago Regional Council will be in attendance.
In advance of this session, which will be chaired by Ngai Tahu elder Edward Ellison, the agencies are asking the Dunedin community to send through questions on the regulations and processes involved in oil and gas exploration.

o 5.30pm - Afternoon tea in wharekai

o 6.15pm - Chairperson starts information session in wharenui
o 6.20pm - Introduction of agencies & overview of regulatory sphere
