Outdoor Award for Save Fiordland
Outdoor Award for Save Fiordland
Save Fiordland is
proud to receive the Wilderness Magazine - Conservation or
Access Initiative of the Year Award.

This award was decided by national popular vote and demonstrates the support for the Save Fiordland action against the Fiordland monorail (and with Glenorchy’s “Stop the Tunnel”, against the Milford – Dart tunnel).
It reflects the degree of widespread dissatisfaction there is with the push to exploit New Zealand’s conservation lands and in these two cases, a World Heritage Area, for which NZ has international obligations.
Save Fiordland has led the fight against the destructive monorail proposal that has been proven to be “unneeded, unwanted, and unworkable”.
Save Fiordland has undertaken a campaign of revealing the truths regarding both the tunnel and monorail proposals to counter deliberate misinformation and flawed concession processes.
