McDonald’s serves up more jobs for Hamilton

McDonald’s new St James restaurant will be serving up more than just a quick meal to Hamiltonians as it opens its doors today, it will also be providing approximately 50 employment opportunities to local job-seekers.

McDonald’s New Zealand managing director, Patrick Wilson, says he’s very excited about opening a brand new McDonald’s restaurant in Hamilton, and offering more employment opportunities in the area. The new restaurant brings the number of McDonald’s in the county to 163.

"We are pleased to not only be bringing additional employment to Hamilton but to also serve good food fast to those working, living, or passing through the area. We see the Waikato as key part of our business, and our eighth and newest restaurant in Hamilton shows our willingness to invest in the region.

“McDonald’s offers employees the opportunity to earn while they learn by working towards a range of internationally recognised NCEA and NZQA accreditations. They also get one of the world’s most well-known brands on their CV.”

The new restaurant, situated at 123 Thomas Road in Rototuna, will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, seating up to 90 customers. It opened for business this morning.

With a play land, McCafe, and a dual lane drive thru, the restaurant will also feature digital menu boards and has been built with sustainability in mind with energy efficient lighting and air conditioning.
