SCIRT traffic update for week starting 7 April, 2014 and weekend 4-7 April
Central city
Montreal/ Victoria St: Montreal one lane north from 7 April
SCIRT work in the Montreal/Victoria/ Salisbury intersection, at the Clock Tower, will create significant delays for the
next month.
• Both Montreal Street and Salisbury Street will be reduced to one lane at this intersection.
• Drivers need to allow extra time, especially at peak times or find an alternate northbound route like Fitzgerald Ave.
• Victoria Street will be closed at the Clock Tower, with access to Victoria St between Salisbury and Kilmore Streets
via Peterborough St.
• This is some of the final wastewater connections in this part of the central city, started 15 months ago by SCIRT’s
Fletcher team. Thanks to everyone who has made the effort and continues to make the effort to get to their local
retailers/ cafes.

Colombo St south of the Square/ Hereford St intersection
No right turn onto Colombo St off Hereford St travelling east. Colombo St will be northbound only Lichfield to Hereford.
(Hereford Street also going eastbound only Colombo to Manchester St).

On track to be finished by the end of next week, 11 April.
Durham St South
Expect delays on this southbound route south of Cashel St over the next two months. Durham St is currently down to two
lanes only between Cashel and Lichfield St (over the bridge), from the week of 7 April it will be reduced to one lane
around the work site progressing through to Tuam St.

Outside the Four Avenues
One-way for McCormacks Bay
McCormacks Bay Road will be one-way, for east bound traffic only (towards Redcliffs) from Monday, 7 April for about a
year. This one-way system will be in place as two SCIRT Fulton Hogan crews start on separate wastewater pipes at either
end of this road with more crews coming on stream at different stages.
Local businesses/ Mt Pleasant Farmers Market
On Saturday mornings, the work site will be minimised as much as possible for the Mt Pleasant Farmers Market. The
temporary parking set up on the McCormacks Bay Reserve for the causeway work will be available for market goers. Access
to the Soleares Ave shops will be via the one-way system on McCormacks Bay Road.

Humphreys Drive one way (estuary link between Linwood Ave and Main Road Sumner)
From Monday, 7 April, Humphreys Drive, the alternate route to Ferry Road to Sumner via the Ferrymead bridge, will be
one-way only – west or citybound – for a month. East or bridge-bound traffic will be detoured at Dyers Road onto Ferry
Road.
SCIRT’s City Care team is starting full road reconstruction on Humphreys Drive and Linwood Ave (between Ferry and Dyers
Roads) for a month. They are also doing kerb and channel and footpath repairs on Ferry Road. Please take care and slow down on these main routes to and from the Ferrymead bridge.
Brougham St at Waltham Road intersection/ Brisbane closed for weekend
This weekend from 6 pm Friday 4 April to 6 am Monday 7 April Brougham St, Sydenham, will be down to one lane eastbound
between Brisbane St and Waltham Road. A section of storm water pipe on Brougham Street between Brisbane and Gasson
Streets will be repaired, so Brisbane St will be closed. There will be electronic signs warning of this and more
intersection work coming up as the SCIRT Fulton Hogan crews work along Brougham St over the next few weekends.

Huntsbury/ Murray Aynsley
Expect delays at the Aynsley Terrace/ Centaurus Road/ Vernon Terrace intersection with Stop/ Go manual traffic
management in place while the wastewater is repaired by SCIRT’s City Care team.
Pages Road, Linwood
Part of Pages Road, spanning the Woodham Road intersection, will be down to one lane only southbound for another week
(work started 26 March, expected to last two weeks).
