Mangapapa Petit Lodge appoints acclaimed Master of Wine as
new Wine Programme Director
Mangapapa Petit Lodge
is delighted to announce the appointment of Master of Wine
Simon Nash as its new Wine Programme Director.
Simon is a qualified Master of Wine and is one of only just over three hundred in the world who has this qualification.
He has worked extensively in many countries around the world and has over 25 years’ experience working in international sales, marketing, fine wine distribution and agency management.
Simon acts as Wine Consultant on call to the catering programme at Parliament in Wellington and has also been a wine judge for many New Zealand and overseas competitions.
In his new role Simon wants to ensure the wine offering at Mangapapa reflects the five star status the boutique hotel holds.
The role of Wine Programme Director has been created to link together all related aspects of wine service at Mangapapa Petit Hotel, in a cohesive fashion.
“The hotel already has one of the best wine lists in New Zealand, this role is to showcase that and work with the service team to ensure Mangapapa’s five star guests receive a five star wine experience,” says Simon Nash.
As such he will not just be writing wine lists but will be involved in training the team about wine, input into degustation dinners, hosting wine tastings and sourcing good wines for functions and events.
Mangapapa Director Chase Arquette says having someone of Simon’s calibre is really exciting for Mangapapa and staff are looking forward to working with him on wine offerings matching Mangapapa’s status as a five star boutique hotel.
