Musicians to rock Te Waimate Mission
Some of the hottest names in New Zealand music will be performing at the ‘Songs of Summer’ Fête on March 22, which is
being held at Te Waimate Mission – the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT) property at Waimate North.
Julia Deans – former lead singer of Fur Patrol – will perform at the summer Fête together with a number of other artists
performing a range of musical styles.
“Celia Church will play her characteristic blend of Rock and Country, while other performers include rock group
Sidetrack and Fat 32 who will play their unique style of Reggae,” says the Manager of Te Waimate Mission, Mita Harris.
“We’re delighted to be able to host such a great group of musicians, who all have such different styles and flavours to
their music. The Songs of Summer Fête is sure to have something for everybody.”
As well as great music, delicious fresh food will be on sale on-site. People can also stroll around the beautiful
grounds of Te Waimate Mission, and even dance to the live music on the lawn.
“We’re keeping the cost of admission down to a gold coin donation so that everybody can enjoy a great afternoon of
entertainment in the beautiful grounds of New Zealand’s second oldest building,” says Mita.
“It’s going to be a fantastic family day out, and a great way to farewell summer.”
