Light aircraft crash

At 1521hrs on Wednesday 5th March 2014 Police received a call from a member of public advising they had seen a plume of smoke after a micro-light aircraft had crashed due to a forced landing near Waipahi Highway between Pukerau and Gore. Emergency services are at the scene. The sole occupant is out of the aircraft with minor injuries and being treated by ambulance at the scene. No other person has been injured or property damaged as a result of this crash. CAA have been advised and will be investigating.
