Rebuild & Renovate Christchurch Home Show Offers Relief to Cantabrians Facing Difficult Rebuild Process
For many Cantabrians, the rebuild process is proving to be a longwinded exercise, and more difficult than anyone
anticipated. Fortunately Exhibitions & Events New Zealand Rebuild & Renovate Christchurch Home Show, on Friday 14 to Sunday 16 March at the CBS Canterbury Arena, Addington, will offer
some respite and guidance to those facing the daunting task of rebuilding.
“What’s important to remember about Christchurch is that there are a huge number of people that have to face a rebuild
or renovation project not by choice, but completely through necessity,” says Exhibition Director Amanda Magnus.
“Rebuild & Renovate is a show we’ve designed specifically to enable members of the public to get answers to their questions
easily; to be able to ask questions of the experts and get an answer straight away, to look at and explore all the
options available to them for their project – whether it’s building a new kitchen, renovating their bathroom, or
building totally from scratch”.
The 2014 show contains hundreds of products, suppliers and experts all under the one roof, ready to discuss any rebuild
or renovation project. Nina Baillie, Interior Designer at Greywacke Design, will be hosting a number of seminars
designed to look at bathroom and kitchen renovations, right through from innovation to installation.
“I want to provide people with a scope of what they need to think about when it comes to their rebuild or renovation
process,” says Baillie.
“Providing insight as to who they need to talk to, where they need to go to get consent, how to look at their current
and proposed layout, even down to choosing the right kind of products or appliances”.
Nina believes it’s highlighting those smaller details that in the current environment are easily overlooked and ends up
causing headaches further down the track. “I’m advising people to think about functionality verses style,” she says.
Rebuild & Renovate offers three full days of seminars that cover everything from home loan acquisition to future proof building,
from asbestos through to colour confidence and everything in between.
“We want people to have the best possible start to their rebuild process,” says Magnus.
“It’s not just about what looks fantastic, it’s the nuts and bolts of rebuilding or renovating homes that are safe and
energy efficient – though if you’re looking for a colour to brighten up the walls of your lounge we have that too!” she
says.
