Lorenzen Bay gets footpath upgrade

Good news for residents in Raglan’s Lorenzen Bay –the construction of a footpath link between Simon Road and Manukau Road has been given the green light.

Over recent months Raglan residents have asked Council to complete a section of footpath on Simon Road where a partial grass berm meant pedestrians were forced to walk on the road.

Waikato District Council General Manager Service Delivery, Tim Harty, says Council acknowledges this is a major safety issue for pedestrians and has allocated $80,000 to construct the footpath link.

“This investment will not only improve the safety of our community but will significantly improve traffic and pedestrian links from Lorenzen Bay to the town centre.”

Details of the project timeline including the completion date are yet to be finalised but Mr Harty expects it will be completed before the end of this financial year.
