10-year old Logan Henderson of Waterloo has a grin from ear to ear today after winning a Xbox One as part of Hutt City Council’s Big Summer Splash promotion.

Logan entered at Eastbourne Pool and was one of more than 1500 kids who swam at Hutt City Council’s six pools more than five times over summer, which was the requirement to enter the draw.

Wei Ting, Facility Manager for Huia Pool said, “Our pools are always super popular with kids and parents alike because we cater to such a wide range of water sports.”

Together the six pools cover inflatables, fun days, outdoor and indoor facilities, toddler areas, learn to swim and lane swimming.

“During summer our facilities double as we open our three summer pools in Petone, Wainuiomata and Eastbourne – these are the perfect, safe place for summer swimming and are open until mid-March,” said Wei.

As part of the Big Summer Splash promotion six children won SPANK swimming packs. They were Zac Langbride (Huia Pool) Alexander Symons (McKenzie Baths) Jack Freeman (Eastbourne Pool) Renee Forman (Wainuiomata Pool) Sheldon Nicholson (Stokes Valley Pool) and Aby Young (Naenae Pool).

The three summer pools are:

•          Eastbourne Pool, Marine Parade (open until Sunday 9 March 2014)
•          McKenzie Baths, Udy Street, Petone  (open until Sunday 16 March 2014)
•          Wainuiomata Pool, Moohan Street (open until Sunday 23 March 2014)
