Councillor Calum Penrose Congratulates New Police Commissioner Mike Bush
Calum Penrose Manurewa-Papakura Councillor congratulates Mike Bush who was appointed this afternoon as the incoming Police Commissioner by Minister of Police Anne Tolley.
“Mike Bush has a strong reputation across South Auckland for the work that he has done as the District Commander of Counties Manukau, and for implementing Neighbourhood Policing Teams, many of which are in Manurewa and Papakura which have been an integral part of reducing crime across my ward and across the region.” Says Councillor Calum Penrose.
Deputy Commissioner Bush has been Deputy Commissioner Operations since April 2011, and through Prevention First and Policing Excellence has managed a change programme in Police which has contributed to a 17.4 per cent drop in recorded crimes over the past three years.
“I have absolute confidence in Mr Bush, and I look forward to working with Mr Bush in his new role as Police Commissioner.” Says Mr Penrose.
