Jennian Homes to Auction off Playhouse for Charity
Jennian Homes Southland is giving back to the community this February by auctioning off a playhouse with proceeds going towards the Heart Foundation’s research into heart disease.
The playhouse was the brainchild of Jennian Homes Southland Directors Carl and Shane Hamilton, whose franchise has been a strong supporter of the Heart Foundation throughout the years, holding an annual Mother’s Day fun run event as well as hosting a fundraising Open Home in last September’s “Go Red for Women” campaign.
Once the idea was formulated, they approached their local Heart Foundation advocate who was ecstatic for further support from the local builders.
Shane Hamilton says the playhouse is a great way to give back to the community as well as helping to raise awareness of heart disease within New Zealand.
“We are hoping to achieve a greater public awareness of Heart Disease through our links with the Heart Foundation. Through our various events, we have been able to contribute to a good cause as well as helping spread the word amongst the Southland public about the importance of heart health. The playhouse is a great way to give something useful to a young family while also contributing to a very valuable cause”.
Nationally, Jennian Homes is a partner of the Heart Foundation, having had a longstanding relationship with the heart health charity.
Having exhibited the playhouse at the Southland Christmas Parade and recent Southern Fieldays, awareness of the auction is starting to grow; leading the Hamilton’s to be hopeful a good outcome for the Heart Foundation will be reached.
The auction will take place at the Invercargill Club at 6pm on February 28 2014. To read further on the valuable work the Heart Foundation does for the New Zealand community, please visit their website www.heartfoundation.org.nz
