Berry Invites Brown to Len Brown Stand Down March
It seems just about nobody wants Mayor Len Brown attending their events anymore, but Affordable Auckland Leader Stephen Berry says that won’t be the case at the Len Brown Stand Down March tomorrow. “I would be delighted if Mayor Len Brown chose to come along tomorrow. I have a spare five minute speaking spot with his name on it.”
The Len Brown Stand Down march takes place tomorrow, Saturday 22nd of February. Participants are invited to assemble at QE2 Square in Britomart at 11:30am. The march will start up Queen Street at 12, reaching Airedale Street by 12:30. Will Ryan of Affordable Auckland will address the protest before we begin marching and a fantastic line up of speakers has been brought together for the conclusion of the march.
Stephen Berry hopes that line up will include the Mayor. “While Auckland Council has a dreadful record on freedom of speech, preventing individuals such as Penny Bright and Rick Splinter from having five minutes to convey their opinions, the Len Brown Stand Down March is different. We want Mr. Brown to have his opportunity to tell us what good he is doing for the city and why he deserves to remain Mayor of Auckland.”
