Buses will replace all trains this weekend
Buses will replace all trains this weekend to allow KiwiRail to carry out works associated with electric trains and
upgrading Auckland’s rail network.
Replacement rail bus services will be provided during the closure and special timetables will be in place for them.
Buses will be marked ‘rail bus’.
To board a rail bus you need to be waiting at the temporary bus location and not a regular bus stop. Signage directing
you to the correct location is posted at the station’s entrance and on the platform. Timetable information is also
posted at the bus stop.
In central Auckland, Britomart Transport Centre will not be open for rail passengers.
All rail buses will arrive and depart from Commerce Street. Rail buses heading west will depart from bus stop 7024 and
rail buses for all other lines will depart from bus stop 7026 on Commerce Street.
Rail buses travel between train stations using local roads and streets. We recommend passengers check if rail
replacement services are suitable to their travel plans as a regular scheduled bus may be a better option.
All valid tickets and passes currently accepted on trains can be used on rail bus replacements.

The majority of rail buses are unfortunately not accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs. Mobility scooters, bikes
and large items of luggage are also not able to be carried.
