Marcus Lush to be Wanaka A&P Show’s celebrity guest

TV and radio personality Marcus Lush to be Wanaka A&P Show’s celebrity guest

Television personality and RadioLIVE Breakfast show host Marcus Lush is to make his debut appearance at the 2014 Wanaka A&P Show – as a celebrity guest.

Lush, one of New Zealand’s most respected broadcasters, will declare the Show “open” before the Grand Parade on March 8, the second day of the two-day event.

Best known for his much-loved TV shows Off the Rails, Ice, South and North, Lush will also present awards to livestock category winners and mingle with competitors and visitors alike at the popular Show.

It’s his first time visiting the Wanaka A&P Show and Lush says he’s looking forward to it.

“I have never been to an A&P show that I haven’t enjoyed and this one sounds like it will be spectacular,” he says.

Show Coordinator Jane Stalker says she’s thrilled to have Lush as celebrity guest for the 77th annual Show.

“Marcus is renowned for his ability to observe the small, unique details of Kiwi culture, history and geography – and we’re sure he’ll enjoy the variety that’s on offer at this iconic Kiwi event,” she says.

Olympic medallists Lisa Carrington and Sarah Walker are also attending the Show – as celebrity guest judges at the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Golden Lamb Awards, aka The Glammies, on March 7.

Also attending the Show is Chelsea Marriner, who shot to fame in 2008 and 2012 when she appeared on New Zealand’s Got Talent with her Dogmatic Dog Team agility dogs. Plus there’ll be musical performances by rising country star Cameron Scott and Wanaka jazz musician Pip Harker.

“The Wanaka A&P Show is a fantastic event for all the family – there’s something for everyone over the two days. It’s going to be a great event,” Stalker says.
