Make the move to TripSwitch
TripSwitch is to return for 2014.
Whether you’re a gym bunny or a couch potato, everyone can benefit from a little extra exercise, every day. TripSwitch is an iWay initiative which encourages everyone to switch one car trip a day to a walking or cycling trip.
Hastings Deputy Mayor Cynthia Bowers says “Our first TripSwitch was held in October 2013 and the feedback from participants was that we should do it again, and make it even bigger. So it’s back as part of this month’s Bike Wise activities.”
“The concept is so simple that everyone can do it. Maybe each day you get in the car and drive a short distance to the nearest shops. All you have to do to become a “TripSwitcher” is to leave the car at home and walk to the shops or ride your bike. You will get some fresh air, that will make you feel better and you will have a new spring in your step,” Cynthia Bowers says.
Cynthia Bowers says “We all talk about wanting to feel better and get fitter but do we really mean it? Here’s your chance put those thoughts into practice. Switch one trip a day; you will notice the difference and we would like to think that you have begun a new habit.”
TripSwitch runs for 7 days from Monday February 17th. There are hundreds of great prizes to be won, including an iPhone, 7 Jupiter Cruiser bikes and iWay gift packs. If you recommend five friends who sign up to TripSwitch in February, you will win an instant prize.
