Inside/ close to the Four Aves - Ferry Road side getting busy

• No right turn onto Fitzgerald Ave from Ferry Road and Moorhouse Ave, travelling west towards the city.

• SCIRT’s Downer crews are pipe-lining on St Asaph St, Ferry Road and Fitzgerald Ave, which will restrict traffic lanes.

Other changes for the week coming

• Montreal St near the Avon River/ Otakaro and south – down to one lane

• Durham St South at St Asaph St - down to one lane for three weeks from Tuesday 11 February.

• Tuam Street reverts back to westbound from Durham to Antigua St.

• Barbadoes St south end, Lichfield to Ferry Road reduced lanes.

Helpful changes

• Moorhouse Ave by Colombo – back to normal

• Hereford St - between Colombo and Manchester now two way. All of Hereford St is two-way, a first since 22 February, 2011.

• Montreal/Victoria Street intersection reopened.

Anzac Drive/ Bexley Road between Pages and Breezes Roads

This stretch of Anzac Drive/ Bexley Road is closed 7am to 7pm currently as a trial which may continue into April. Drivers of trucks will be escorted through the site, other drivers will be detoured. The reason for getting this work done now is to make the most of the dry weather so the road can be well sealed before winter.

Centaurus Road

Stop/Go traffic management in place so expect delays or take a different route.

Roading updates for the central city launch on CTV

Road users can now tune into CTV each day for regular updates on roadworks, changes in traffic management, tips for clear routes and possible delays.

A new update will play each day, Monday to Friday, on the First At Five news bulletin. The 60 second update is repeated regularly (5pm, 6.30pm, 9.30pm, 7am, 8am, 9am and noon). The initiative is part of the Christchurch Transport Operation Centre’s (CTOC’s) aim to provide road users with more information to assist them to plan their journeys, minimise delays and reduce frustration on the roads. SCIRT transport planners and SCIRT delivery teams are working with the CTOC people on this project.
