"Armed Bank Robbery - Mairangi Bay - Waitemata"
At 11.23 am on Friday the 7th of February 2014 the Mairangi Bay branch of the ASB was the subject of an Aggravated Robbery. A man entered the bank, walked up to a teller, presented a black pistol, pointed the gun at the staff and demanded money.
The man was carrying a black "back-pack" type bag. An undisclosed amount of money was handed over before the man walked out of the bank. He turned left onto the Beach Road and there have been no confirmed sightings of him after this.
The man is described as; Caucasian, dark hair but thinning on the front, aged in his mid to late 40s and of medium build. He was wearing a black T-shirt with writing and a motif on the front and back and wearing jeans.
The North Shore Police are seeking the assistance to anyone who may have seen this male in the area around the time of the robbery. Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown, North Shore Investigations Manager stated that "We would like to locate this man before he does this again. Someone will know who he is from the picture and I encourage them to call the police or Crime Stoppers with that information"
Police would also like any information which may assist in identifying this male.
