HBRIC Ltd supports time extension request from Board of Inquiry
The Board of Hawke’s Bay Regional Investment Company Limited (HBRIC Ltd) supports the request for a time extension from the Independent Board of Inquiry considering HBRC’s Tukituki Plan Change 6 and the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme.
The Board was set up by the Environmental Protection Authority to consider resource consents for the water storage scheme, alongside HBRC’s Tukituki Plan Change. It held a seven week hearing that concluded in January, where it heard 73 submitters / representations and approximately 70 witnesses.
HBRIC Ltd Chairman Dr Andy Pearce says “a high quality and robust decision is in the best interests of all parties, so HBRIC supports the Board’s request for a one month extension of time”.
He says “the process has been open, rigorous and thorough.”
“Our legal counsel will inform the respective government Ministers of HBRIC’s support for the extension."
