Summer Nights at Wellington Zoo this February
Wellington Zoo is leaving its doors open to visitors late this month – the Zoo will be open every Wednesday in February until 8pm.
“We’ve had numerous visitor requests for later opening hours in summer, so this will be a perfect opportunity for people to come and unwind after work or school with family and friends,” says Amy Hughes, General Manager Community Engagement.
“The Zoo is a magical place after hours, especially with this gorgeous February weather we’re having.”
“There will be live music and special animal talks every Wednesday, so everyone who comes along is guaranteed to have a great night out.”
“Mojo café will stay open, and visitors can also bring a picnic to enjoy on the Zoo grounds.”
“And if anyone wants to come along during the day, there'll be no rush to leave and no extra charge to stay late.”
But that’s not all – the Zoo is sharing the late-night love on Valentine’s Day, too.
“We’re also offering an after-hours Valentine’s Night experience on Friday 14 February – the Zoo will be open until 8.30pm, with live music from Miles Calder & the Rumours, ‘adult-themed’ animal talks, and hampers and encounters available to book,” says Ms Hughes.
“Valentine’s Night is adults-only – a chance for the grown-ups to enjoy a picnic and a glass of wine, and learn more about what goes on when the lights go off in the animal kingdom!”
Close Encounters are also available on all five late nights in February, but with limited spaces – book early at www.wellingtonzoo.com to avoid disappointment.
