Reduced water pressure Friday night to Saturday night in Lester Heights area
Water supply to the Lester Heights area, including parts of Fourth Avenue and Glendale Road, may be affected by work on the water supply system between 10pm Friday 31 January and 8pm on Saturday 1 February.
WDC Water Services Distribution Engineer Simon Charles said that some residents will experience low water pressure during the work, however most areas will continue to receive some water even if it’s at a lower pressure than normal. The contractor concerned will be doing everything possible to minimise the impact on residents and businesses in the area.
When the water comes back to full supply on Saturday night it may take some time for the pressure to adjust.
Properties most likely to be impacted by the work will be notified by a letter drop.
The changes are required to enable work to be carried out on Maunu Road (SH14) to permanently relocate a control valve chamber. This is part of the State Highway 1 /State Highway 14 intersection improvement works.
If people need water desperately, the contractor (Fulton Hogan) will have a water carrier on standby. The number to call is 0277028785 (Project Supervisor’s number) or 0800 PROGRESS or Whangarei District Council on 09 4304200.
