Dinosaurs come to life at Butterfly Creek
Dinosaur Kingdom at Butterfly Creek will enthral audiences with its captivating life-size dinosaurs.
From January 17th visitors to Butterfly Creek will be able to travel back to a time when animals larger than life ruled
the Earth. This fun and engaging exhibit of tyrannosaurus proportions will feature life-size animatronic dinosaurs
including a 24m diplodocus, the fish-eating baronyx, a family of triceratops and the small-brained stegosaurus.
Dinosaur Kingdom at Butterfly Creek will take visitors along a trail that showcases unique and interactive displays of
animatronic dinosaurs that roar and move as well as a new purpose- built display room that showcases fossils, bones,
eggs and skeletal replicas.
“Dinosaur Kingdom is the first of its kind in the New Zealand,” says Butterfly Creek General Manager John Dowsett.
“We’re incredibly excited to be able to take visitors on a visual and tactile journey through a land full of life-like
dinosaurs – providing an unforgettable day out for all the family among the enormous herbivores and fierce carnivores.”
“Dinosaurs existed on our planet for much longer than humans,” he says. “This entertaining and educational experience
will offer our guests an opportunity to imagine what life might have been like when they roamed the earth.”
“Nowhere else in New Zealand can you witness life-like dinosaurs, as well as the unique tropical butterfly and crocodile
encounters,” says John.
