New Holiday Park App helps NZ travellers
Travelling around New Zealand just got even easier, with the launch of a new Holiday Parks App.
Using GPS, the app determines the user’s location and then shows holiday parks nearby, in either a map view or list view. In addition, it shows the locations of nearby toilets, petrol stations, supermarkets and much more. It even shows real-time road alerts to help drivers plan their trip.
The app has been developed by the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand (HAPNZ).
“With the app listing over 290 holiday parks in New Zealand, you'll never be far away from a good night’s accommodation. Holiday parks provide New Zealand's best leisure accommodation, whether you are a backpacker or a family on holiday. New Zealand holiday parks are found in the country's most beautiful locations and you can find it all using the official Holiday Parks App,” HAPNZ Chief Executive Fergus Brown says.
The app aims to make it easier for international visitors to find their way around New Zealand, Mr Brown says. New Zealanders will also find it useful when they’re on holiday.
“We are part of a collaborative project called GeoZone which aims to make it easier to travel responsibly by sharing facility locations. So if you find something not on the app, or if you find a location that's no longer there, you can submit it through the app and contribute to this awesome project,” Mr Brown says.
The app complements the HAPNZ website www.holidayparks.co.nz, mobile website http://m.holidayparks.co.nz/ and Chinese language website www.tansuoxinxilan.co.nz/hapnz/index.htm
The Holiday Parks App is available for free downloading for Apple devices. The Android version will be available very soon.
