Find:Chch – See, eat, do - directory mobile app launched

Building on the success of the FindChch.com online interactive map of things to see, eat and do, the Christchurch City Council is launching a free mobile app today to help boost local businesses and attractions.

The Find:Chch app allows visitors and residents to quickly select and locate what they want from a directory of over 3500 listings says Christchurch City Council Marketing Manager Richard Stokes. The listings cover five categories of accommodation, entertainment, information and services, parks and recreation, transport and ‘what’s hot’.

Mr Stokes says that as the pace of the rebuild picks up, new eateries and transitional city projects are being added weekly. In addition, The Press is sponsoring free reviews and deals available only on the app.

“Reviews and deals add tremendous value to the listings,” says Mr Stokes. “We want the information on the Find:Chch app to be relevant and accurate for people who are on the move.”

The Christchurch City Council decided to launch the free app partly in response to public demand and partly because it is expensive for visitors to download data. Visitors can download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play and use it when in Christchurch. It is compatible with all mobile device platforms.

Relevant businesses can list on the app free via the website www.findchch.com, or list a deal by contacting Kate Veale at The Press.
