Guinness World Record ‘Skinny Dip’ Attempt

Gisborne, New Zealand. ‘BW Summer Festival’ in association with The Edge Radio, is doing an international call out for people to join them to break a Guinness World Record at their New Year’s Eve, Skinny Dip event.

On the last day of 2013 thousands of people will gather at Gisborne beach as a hundreds of excited naked people attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people skinny dipping at one time.

Not only is Gisborne one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it’s also the first place in the world to see the sun on New Year’s Day. This beautiful corner of the world has long attracted international travellers and now BW Summer Festival organisers hope they will make the journey to join them for this special event.

“Last year we had an unofficial go at the Skinny Dip event and managed to attract 548 people, but this year we are going all out and have officially registered the event with Guinness World Records. We hope to attract more international guests to the event this year not only for the Skinny Dip but also to enjoy the wonderful 5 day camping festival event in this beautiful location. We still have camping packages left that can easily be booked online,” says Festival Director Toby Burrows.

The BW Summer Festival has been home to campers for the past 10 years and includes a line up of the country’s top musical acts at the Jim Beam Soundshell - Six60, Homebrew, Stafford Brothers, Kora, Katchafire, Ladi6, Iam Giant plus many more. The festival also includes five days of beachside activities and summertime fun on Gisborne Beach.
